Abstract Submission Guidelines

SAARC ENT Congress Colombo 2026

1. Eligibility

Abstracts are invited from:

  • ENT surgeons and trainees
  • Audiovestibular physicians
  • Audiologists
  • Speech & Language Therapists
  • Researchers and allied healthcare professionals

Submissions are welcome from SAARC countries and international delegates.

2. Categories

Abstracts should be submitted under one of the following tracks:

Otology & Neurotology Rhinology & Anterior Skull Base Head & Neck Surgery Laryngology, Voice & Airway Paediatric Otolaryngology Audiology & Vestibular Medicine Speech & Language Therapy Sleep Medicine Education, Training & Innovation General ENT

3. Presentation Formats

Authors may indicate a preferred format:

Oral Presentation
Poster Presentation

Final allocation will be determined by the Scientific Committee, in line with ENT-UK practice.

4. Abstract Format

(Structured – Mandatory)

All abstracts must be structured using the following headings:

Title • Authors (Presenting author underlined) • Institution(s) • Introduction/Background • Aim(s)/Objective(s) • Method(s) • Result(s) • Conclusion(s)

Case reports should follow:

Background • Case Description • Discussion • Conclusion

5. Word Limit

Maximum 250 words

Word count excludes title, authors, and affiliations

6. Formatting Rules

  • Language: English (UK spelling preferred)
  • Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12, Line spacing: Single
  • No tables, figures, graphs, or references
  • No author-identifying information within the abstract body

7. Originality & Prior Presentation

  • Abstracts must describe original work

8. Ethics & Governance

Research involving human participants must confirm:

  • Ethical approval or exemption, where applicable
  • Compliance with local governance standards

Patient anonymity must be strictly preserved.

9. Submission Process

  • Abstracts must be submitted via the official online submission portal
  • Email or paper submissions will not be accepted
  • Authors must ensure accuracy before final submission; edits after the deadline will not be permitted

10. Review Process

Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Assessment criteria include:

  • Scientific validity
  • Originality
  • Clinical relevance
  • Clarity of presentation

All decisions are final.

12. Registration Requirement

  • At least one author must be registered to present
  • Failure to register by the stated deadline may result in withdrawal of the abstract

13. Publication & Certification

  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress Abstract Book
  • Certificates will be issued to presenting authors only
